JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for ensuring the safety compliance of Head Start physical environments, to support the delivery of high-quality services to all children, families and staff. Monitor and maintain agency facilities, including playgrounds. Ensure compliance with all federal, state and program regulations. Ensure health and safety policies are followed. Prepare and review bid request and purchase contracts. Review, submit and approve purchase orders and expense report. Assign and prioritize work requests and monitor the work through completion for quality, accuracy and timeliness.

COMPETENCIES

  • Working knowledge of all applicable OSHA, UDOT, NPSI, Local, State and Federal Safety standards as they pertain to Head Start Performance Standards
  • Provide safety expertise and mentoring for Head Start staff and volunteers.
  • Perform routine safety inspection of facilities and playgrounds
  • Coordinate facility and safety inspections with local authorities as needed

* This position is responsible for the day to day supervision of the agency courier and office managers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 years of building maintenance or construction experience
  • 3 years of supervisory experience required
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field is preferred or a current professional license in a construction trade would be accepted in leu a degree.
