Utah Community Action is seeking to hire a Homeless Services Coordinator. Work for the agency that was just awarded Best of State 2022 for Best Public Preschool and Best Charitable Service Organization. UCA is seeking inspired, talented people who want to be make a difference in the community.

This is a full-time, Exempt position earning a competitive salary of $56K a year. We also offer generous benefits including health, dental, vision, a flexible spending account (FSA), a healthcare spending account (HSA) with up to a $2,500 match, a 401k plan with 5% match, short and long-term disability, accident insurance, life insurance, 11 paid holidays, paid time off between Christmas and New Year's, PTO-paid time off (accrue up to 192 hours a year!!), and an hour of paid time on Fridays for self-care. Position located in the Salt Lake Area

The Homeless Services Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Intake Center and supervising the Homeless Services team to assure program compliance with Federal, State and Utah Community Action policies and procedures. Responsible for monitoring of program reports and supporting assigned areas to ensure a seamless and professional delivery of services. Required to supervise, monitor and train staff, as well as offer direct client services as needed. As a representative of the agency, this position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and advocating for clients using a trauma-informed, client-centered approach. Member of the UCA Management Team, participating in strategic planning and services, exhibiting a holistic approach to agency services.

This position will supervise day-to-day activities of intake workers, diversion coaches, and diversion workers at the Homeless Resource Centers (HRCs), Weigand Center, and the Midvale Family Shelter. This position is required to drive personal vehicle as part of the job duties, therefore a valid driver's license and current personal automobile insurance must be maintained at all times while employed in this position


  • Bachelor degree in social, human services or related field.
  • Two years supervisory experience.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Experience working in a homeless shelter setting preferred
  • Experience in Motivational interviewing and conflict resolution preferred
